SUN – TECH COMMERCIAL SUCCESS STORY
Holiday Inn. Downtown Los Angeles
The Holiday Inn on Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles is has 212 air conditioned bedrooms. The energy costs were enormous, especially in the Summer months. The sun was also causing fading and damage to interior furnishings, particularly window treatments and wallpaper. The manager asked Sun-Tech to tint all the windows of the hotel; a total of 12,000 square feet.
Sun-Tech, working in partnership with Metropolitan West, completed the windows in one week. They used Green Silver Reflective Film with 68% reflectivity. The color was to match the Holiday Inn green logo.

STOREFRONTS AND WINDOW DISPLAYS
Retail stores with window displays have a problem with the sun fading merchandise. This is a particularly big problem in Southern California which has year round sunshine. The primary cause of fading is invisible ultra violet radiation from the sun, but heat and light are other contributing factors. Even after only a week on display, colors can fade. Darker colors are especially affected, even in winter months. Stores can lose thousands of dollars worth of very expensive stock every month. Sun-Tech has installed Sun Control Window Film on many storefronts in Beverly Hills to help protect valuable merchandise.

Since the visibility of the window displays is so important, we use 3M Prestige, a clear reflective film, so the visibility of the window displays remains the same.
